1. National TB Control Programme (NTCP)

National TB Control Programme (NTCP) was implemented in Arunachal Pradesh in 1967 with two District TB Centres:

  • DTC Pasighat
  • DTC Margherita

Later, additional DTCs were established at Ziro, Bomdila, Tezu and Aalo in 1974. Short Course Chemotherapy (SCC) was introduced during 1983-84.

2. Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP)

Preparation for RNTCP began in Arunachal Pradesh in 1999 with infrastructure development, manpower recruitment and creation of Designated Microscopy Centres (DMCs).

Formal RNTCP service delivery commenced on 20 September 2002.

4. PMDT / DR-TB Services

PMDT Services were launched in Arunachal Pradesh in November 2011 to manage Multi Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB).

8. Activities Undertaken During 2017-18

  • Training of DTOs, MO-TCs, Lab Technicians and Supervisory Staff.
  • Training on revised PMDT Guidelines.
  • Training of District Accountants on PFMS.
  • Conducted Active TB Case Finding in 4 districts.
  • Launched Fix Dose Daily Regimen (FDC).
  • Installed 3 additional CBNAAT machines.
  • Training on CBNAAT machines.
  • Launched shorter MDR-TB regimen.
  • Procured computers for PFMS.
  • Training on Nikshay DBT-PFMS.
