Healthcare Administration Structure

Strengthening healthcare governance and service delivery through coordinated administration at Government, Directorate, District, Block and Primary healthcare levels across Arunachal Pradesh.

Govt. Level

The State Department of Health & Family Welfare, under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, guides and supervises healthcare programmes across the State.

The Commissioner to the Government, Health & Family Welfare Department has overall responsibility for administration and implementation of health programmes. The Commissioner is assisted by the Special Secretary and Under Secretary.

Directorate Level

At the Directorate level, Health & Family Welfare programmes are implemented, supervised and coordinated by the Director of Health & Family Welfare.

The Directorate includes Additional Directors, Joint Directors, Deputy Directors, Joint Controller (F&A) and various officers from different specialties to ensure effective programme management and monitoring.

District Level

At the district level, the Civil Surgeon in the grade of District Medical Officer supervises all health-related activities.

The Civil Surgeon is supported by Programme Officers such as District Family Welfare Officer, District Health Officer, Immunization Officer, TB/Leprosy Officer and other administrative officers.

Block Level

At the block level, the Senior Medical Officer manages the Primary Health Centre with assistance from Medical Officers, Dental Surgeons and supervisors.

Multi Purpose Health Supervisors and Health Workers ensure delivery of preventive and primary healthcare services directly to communities and households.

Primary Level Preventive & Curative Care

Sub-Centres and Primary Health Centres provide preventive and curative healthcare services including maternal & child health, immunization, family planning and health education.
