Objectives

The Health & Family Welfare Department aims to strengthen healthcare delivery systems by ensuring the availability of quality medicines and medical consumables in all government health institutions across Arunachal Pradesh.

• 1 To make available good quality drugs and medical consumables at the right time and in the required quantity to patients in all government health institutions within the available budget.
• 2 To ensure the rational and effective use of drugs in all government health institutions for better patient care and treatment outcomes.
• 3 An Essential Drug List (EDL) will be prepared and updated every two years by an Expert Committee to ensure availability of essential medicines.
• 4 Procurement, Accounts, Quality Control, Warehouse Monitoring and other important activities will be managed electronically for efficient, transparent and error-free management.
• 5 Standard Treatment Guidelines (STG) for common diseases prevalent in Arunachal Pradesh will be developed, revised and updated every two years by an Expert Committee.
• 6 All treating healthcare personnel in Government institutions will follow the Standard Treatment Guidelines to ensure uniformity and quality in treatment.
