Introduction
The Directorate of Medical Education, Training & Research under the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Arunachal Pradesh was established and started functioning in the year 2013.
The Directorate deals with matters related to Medical Education such as Medical Colleges, Regional Pharmacy Colleges, Paramedical Education, Nursing Institutes under Government and Private Sector, and other allied educational institutions.
The Directorate also conducts combined counselling for admission into MBBS, BDS State Quota Seats, various Paramedical Courses, GNM and ANM courses.
Major Activities
Administration Control
Administrative control over 5 Zonal General Hospitals located at Bomdila, Pasighat, Tezu, Ziro and Khonsa.
TRIHMS Medical College
Establishment of Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) with MBBS academic sessions.
Nursing Education
Establishment and management of GNM and ANM Nursing Schools across Arunachal Pradesh.
Student Selection
Selection and nomination of students for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, Nursing and Paramedical courses.
Paramedical Courses
Conducting admission and counselling for Paramedical and allied Health Science courses.
Healthcare Education
Strengthening healthcare manpower through Medical, Nursing and Allied Health Education.
