The Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Arunachal Pradesh is committed towards strengthening healthcare systems, reducing disease burden, improving maternal and child health, and ensuring equitable healthcare services to every citizen across the State.

Health Plan Goals

  • Reduce MMR to less than 100 per 1 lakh live births.
  • Reduce IMR to 25 per 1000 live births.
  • Reduce TFR to 2.1.
  • Prevent and reduce anaemia among women aged 15-49 years.
  • Reduce mortality and morbidity from communicable and non-communicable diseases.
  • Reduce out-of-pocket expenditure on healthcare.
  • Reduce annual incidence and mortality from Tuberculosis by half.
  • Reduce prevalence of Leprosy to less than 1 per 10,000.
  • Maintain Annual Malaria Incidence below 1 per 1000.
  • Achieve 100% coverage under CMUHIS Scheme.
  • Provide equitable quality healthcare services to rural population.
  • Equip Health Institutions as per IPHS Norms.

Department Objectives

  • Ensure adequate preventive and curative healthcare services across the State.
  • Provide healthcare access to disadvantaged groups including ST, SC and backward classes.
  • Provide affordable healthcare through allopathic, homeopathic and ayurvedic systems.
  • Increase access to primary healthcare through nearby institutions and mobile health units.
  • Eliminate diseases like malaria, polio and leprosy from the State.
  • Control and prevent communicable diseases effectively.
  • Reduce maternal, infant and neo-natal mortality rates.
  • Improve hospital infrastructure, drugs availability and healthcare personnel.
  • Strengthen healthcare services at primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
  • Provide regular training to doctors, nurses and paramedical staff.
  • Improve medical education and healthcare quality within the State.
