  • This 10 KL capacity LMO Plant, with an oxygen cylinder refilling facility, ensures a steady supply of oxygen for the hospital.
  • The dedicated ICU and specialized Pediatrics Care Unit, consisting of a 5-bed ICU, 3-bed PICU, and 4-bed HDU, will enhance the hospital’s ability to deliver comprehensive, life-saving healthcare to critically ill patients and cater to Pediatric needs.

  • Inspected various critical sections of the hospital, including the CMMAY office, Surgery ward, Medicine ward, ICU, OT complex, Dialysis ward, MCH Block, ASR laboratory, blood bank, OPD block, and the casualty and emergency ward.

They are the most experienced faculties in the field of Emergency & Trauma in the country.Their team is conducting an ICMR-funded study on strengthening emergency care systems in ArunachalPradesh.
  • We discussed enhancing our state's Emergency Services with AIIMS and MoHFW support. A State-Level Steering Committee will soon be formed to prioritize stroke, trauma, and heart attack care—focusing on life-saving interventions during the golden hour.

Release of Grant-in-Aid under National Mental Health Programme to Hara Hapa Prayer Centre, Hoj for Strengthening Mental Health and De-addiction Services
  • Pleased to hand over a Grant-in-Aid of Rs 5 Lakhs to NGO, Hara Hapa Prayer Centre in Hoj today under the National Mental Health Programme of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GoI.
  • Established in 2003, this dedicated NGO has been a beacon of hope, providing relentless service in the mental health sector. The centre is presently caring for 60 inmates in total, including around 40 mental health patients and drug de-addiction cases. Their steadfast commitment to rehabilitation and support for those in need is truly inspiring.

3rd State Council on AIDS Meeting under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Chief Minister, Focusing on Strengthening HIV/AIDS Prevention and Drug Abuse Control Measures
  • Chaired by Hon’ble CM Shri Pema Khandu Ji, the 3rd State Council on AIDS (SCA) Meeting was held today at the CM’s Office, Niti Vihar.
  • Containing the spread of HIV/AIDS in the state is a matter of utmost importance. Recent data shows HIV/AIDS transmission through infected needles (66.55%) higher than through unprotected sex (30.55%), underlining the urgent need to tackle drug abuse alongside HIV prevention.
  • We resolved to:
    Strengthen awareness on HIV & substance abuse.
    Intensify Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan.
    Build a united, multi-sectoral response.

Red Run Marathon for HIV/AIDS Awareness and Review Meeting on Strengthening Healthcare Service Delivery in Arunachal Pradesh
  • Flagged off the Red Run Marathon today in Itanagar, where students from colleges all across Arunachal participated, carrying the powerful message of HIV/AIDS awareness under the theme "Youths Against HIV/AIDS."
  • These talented young runners were selected from their respective colleges. The winners from this event will proudly represent our state at the grand marathon in Dimapur, Nagaland, on 30th October.

  • Visited the 300-bedded new hospital building at Pasighat, which is currently at the mid-stage of construction. I also reviewed the ongoing works of the Critical Care Centre and the MRI Unit.
  • Pasighat has already emerged as a major hub for patient treatment in the region. With the completion of these key healthcare infrastructures, the hospital will be much better equipped to handle the growing patient load and provide advanced, timely, and quality medical care to the people

  • Despite limitations in human resources, the team is managing the health centre efficiently and providing essential healthcare services. Listened to their concerns and challenges, which will be taken into consideration while working towards further strengthening healthcare centres.

Launch of State HPV Vaccination Campaign Against Cervical Cancer to Protect Adolescent Girls and Advance the Vision of a Cancer-Free Arunachal Pradesh
  • The State HPV Vaccination Campaign against Cervical Cancer was launched by Hon’ble CM Pema Khandu at TRIHMS, following the national launch by Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji from Ajmer, Rajasthan.
  • Through this initiative, we are investing in the health and future of our daughters. Cervical cancer is one of the leading cancers among women, with nearly 99.7% of cases caused by HPV infection. Arunachal Pradesh has already been affected by the cancer burden, and this campaign is a strong step forward towards building a Cancer-Free Arunachal.
  • At the launch of the State HPV Vaccination Campaign against Cervical Cancer, 5 young beneficiaries aged 14 years received the HPV vaccine and certificate.
  • The Department of Health & FW has made thorough preparations to vaccinate 19,476 girls aged 14 years across Arunachal Pradesh over the next three months.

Visit to Remote Health Sub-Centre at Banggo Village to Assess Healthcare Challenges and Infrastructure Needs in Riverine Areas
  • Visited a Health Sub Centre located in the remote village of Banggo under Lower Dibang Valley district. Reaching the centre required crossing a river by boat, which is quite dangerous, especially during the rainy season.
  • The sub-centre is functioning from a kaccha house, voluntarily built by the villagers and inaugurated in 2025. It caters to people from Mer and Banggo villages, as well as nearby villages of Assam, where accessing nearby PHCs or CHCs is difficult due to the need to cross the river.
  • Reviewed the infrastructure and felt the urgent need for proper facilities, including residential quarters for doctors and healthcare staff. Discussed the matter with the concerned MLA and DMO and will work towards a solution.

Visit to PHC Sarli, Kurung Kumey District to Review Healthcare Services and Assess Critical Human Resource and Infrastructure Needs in a Remote Border Region
  • Tour to Sarli, visited PHC Sarli and reviewed the ground realities of healthcare services in this remote border region of Kurung Kumey dist.
  • With nearly 45 villages under Sarli and Polosang circles, the PHC is currently functioning without a regular allopathic doctor and is being managed by a single AYUSH Medical Officer.
  • Interacted with the staff, assessed urgent needs, and assured that necessary steps will be taken to strengthen services.
  • Also applauded MO (AYUSH) Dr. Tarh Loth and his team for their dedication in providing healthcare services despite limited facilities and manpower.

State-Level Nexus Planning Meeting under NHRP Project on Integrated Emergency Care to Strengthen Emergency and Trauma Care Systems in Arunachal Pradesh
  • Attended the State Level Nexus Planning Meeting under the NHRP Project on Integrated Emergency Care, along with Hon Advisor Dr. Mohesh Chai Ji.
  • Deliberations focused on strengthening integrated emergency and trauma care systems through the proposed Arunachal Pradesh Integrated Emergency Care System (AP-IECS) for timely and quality management of critical cases.
  • The meeting was attended by senior scientists from ICMR, New Delhi and Professors from JPNA Trauma Centre, AIIMS New Delhi, who have been guiding the State Health Dept and TRIHMS Medical College.
  • It is worth mentioning that the Emergency Dept of TRIHMS has been declared as a Centre of Excellence (COE) by the MoHFW, Govt. of India.
  • Arunachal Pradesh is the top-performing state in the implementation of this NHRP Project.

Apprised the Hon’ble Minister of the key gaps and challenges in the State’s health sector, including the need for a Critical Care Block (CCB) Maternity and Child Block, a Day Care Cancer Centre in Itanagar, and strengthening of infrastructure at TRIHMS, the State’s lone medical institute.
  • Sought guidance and support for addressing these requirements and for further strengthening healthcare delivery in the State.

Observance of World Malaria Day 2026 and Reaffirmation of Commitment Towards Malaria Elimination in Arunachal Pradesh
  • On World Malaria Day (April 25, 2026), let us reaffirm our commitment to eliminate Malaria. This year’s theme, “Driven to End Malaria: Now we can. Now we must.”, calls for urgent and collective action to achieve zero indigenous cases by 2027 and complete elimination by 2030.
  • Arunachal Pradesh has made remarkable progress, moving to Category I (low burden) in 2022, with 19 districts malaria-free for the past three years—but sustaining this achievement remains a challenge.
  • Through the National Center for Vector Borne Diseases Control (NCVBDC), key tools are available across all districts.
  • LLINs (treated bed nets), Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs), and free ACT-AL treatment.
