Ambulance under National Health Mission

 Currently under NHM 123 ambulances 4 critical Care ambulances Service available in the state, which are all attached to the PHCs, CHCs and District Hospitals/General Hospitals. These vehicles carry non-emergency and emergency patients, under the JSSK scheme. Additionally, a call-centre (102) is operational. This call centre (102) is integrated with the ambulances under NHM.

The referrals of any kind of emergencies are tackled through the ambulances available with the Department under the disposal of RKS. The priority is to transport complicated pregnancies, severely sick children especially belonging to BPL. In the state, there is no private player to provide transport / referral facilities to be outsourced as is done in developed state. Overall, the referral depends fully on Govt. facility.

Further, For DH / GH which are FRUs, better equipped ambulances will be provided with facility for caring cardiac and neurological cases since number of patients are increasing day by day. It is felt that well equipped ambulances should be made available in all the FRUs.

The ambulances in placed are under the direct supervision of the DMO.
